ABOUT KATHLEEN

I am a passionate traveler and I’m always up for the next adventure. I’ve visited 26 countries, 35 U.S. states and 5 continents and I have barely scratched the surface. There is so much more to see in our vast, beautiful world!

 

My first trip I can remember was riding the “Skunk Train” in Mendocino with my mom through the magnificent Northern California redwoods. The awe and wonder of those big trees sparked a desire to see the world and explore the Earth.  I’ve lived on both coasts and abroad in London. I’ve raced through train stations in Europe with my backpack bouncing, been chauffeured along the Amalfi coast and driven stick shift along the “wrong” side of the road in Australia. I’ve dug my toes into the sand on nearly a dozen or so of the “Best Beaches in the World,” depending on who wrote the list.

 

When not traveling, I have worked for marketing agencies in New York and San Francisco; analyzed financial and marketing strategies for major retailers; ran a successful real estate business; started a small, mall-based amusement business and picked up my MBA along the way. Starting Travel SophistiKat and joining the travel business is a dream come true.  Truthfully, I pinch myself every so often to make sure I’m not dreaming. I still can’t believe I’ve been able to turn my passion into a career.
